Programmatic assessment in the master’s programme Dentistry

In some clinical pathways of the master’s programma Dentistry, Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) are applied: observable tasks entrusted to competent students. Together with the digital portfolio, assessment is structured according to the principles of programmatic assessment: rather than just high-stakes assessments, student development is tracked. Students collect evidence of their development as healthcare professionals through forms. After each clinic day, the student completes an (EPA) form in the portfolio with a self-assessment. This is followed by feedback from the teacher. The portfolio dashboards provide insight into student development. Based on the entire portfolio, a final summative assessment is given at the end of the clinical pathway.
